As Winter comes to a close here in the Midwest, its time to get prepared for Spring. We had a very mild Winter season here in Terre Haute but there are still things that should be done every year to help preserve your beautiful trees and landscaping.
First things first, we’ll need to do what is simply called Post Winter Cleanup. We’ll be removing old leaves, branches and limbs that have fallen over the past few months. This will be essential as we prep our trees and landscaping for the upcoming growing season.
After the area around the tree is cleaned up, its now time to inspect your trees for diseases. If your tree has a lot of broken limbs, mold or other fungi growing on it, they are likely ready to be trimmed back or even removed. If your tree has started to change colors, that could also be an issue. To much water or not enough water can cause this issue. It doesn’t necessarily mean the tree needs removed, but it should be inspected by a professional arborist.
A reminder that the professionals at Terre Haute Tree Removal can come out to your home or business and evaluate your trees to see if any work needs to be done. If trimming or removal is recommended, we’ll be more than happy to give you a FREE estimate.
We have been asked many times over the years whether mulch around the base of trees is beneficial. Simply put, yes!!! Not only does mulch add curb appeal, but it also provides a protective type barrier for the tree during the hottest times of the year. It will also help keep moisture in place for those times that rain is hard to come by. All trees can benefit from mulch, but EVERY TREE under age 10, should be protected with mulch at the base.
